The Ink Series wines are a collection of alternate varieties from Italy, Spain and France. There was a focus on Italian varieties due to the owners own Italian heritage. The series inception was in 2010 and the idea was to introduce different and alternative varieties to the wine country that built its reputation on Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon. These old word varieties, with some dating back to Ancient Roman times, are being given a makeover. With Australia’s rich and diverse climate, we are able to grow these traditional grapes in our own backyard. There are some heated discussions over the exact origins of some of these varieties, but who cares when they taste this good. Red, white and rose, light and heavy styles this collection has something for everyone. Stand out from the crowd and try something different, or better yet try your hand and the correct pronunciation of the varieties – it’s amusing for everyone.
