The 2023 vintage will be remembered for two very unusual phenomena. Firstly, very high rainfall though South Eastern Australia resulted in devastating flood events for the region. Fortunately we avoided any direct damage to our vineyards. Secondly, the summer growing season was one of the mildest in many years, with very few heat spikes above 35 degrees. this resulted in a long, delayed vintage where ripeness was achieved at lower sugar levels. Wines from V23 are generally very pretty and perfumed, with great varietal characteristics.
